TARGET AUDIENCE:
Nurses, Counselors, and other interested Health Professionals

COURSE DESCRIPTION:
• This is a six-hour training aimed at providing an introduction to Multicultural Competency for the counselor, nurse, or other professional
• This course directly relates to the domains of assessment, counseling, case management, client education, and professional responsibility, with a specific substance abuse focus.


OBJECTIVES: (Behavioral Terminology)
Upon completion, the learner will be able to:
1. Describe how bias, prejudice, and stereotyping may be found in the workplace or in a relationship between a professional and a client.
2. Identify an inappropriate culturally-referenced response in a counseling and/or workplace scenario.
3. Identify an appropriate culturally-referenced response in a counseling and/or workplace scenario.
